WHAT IS IT
A sports drink meant for hydration and electrolyte replenishment. It's flavored (berry / mountain blast), sweetened, and enriched with vitamins and minerals.
BENEFITS
Helps restore electrolytes (sodium, potassium, etc.) lost during sweating; includes vitamin B6, sometimes vitamin B12 & C depending on version; gives a quick energy boost because of sugars.
DRAWBACKS
High in added sugars; has artificial coloring and flavoring; contains food additives whose long-term effects are less certain; not something to drink constantly if you're not doing heavy exercise.

RESEARCH SUBTEXT
Water5 Essential, no risk.Water is safe and fundamental. Very low risk unless contaminated.
High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS)75Major sugar source; linked to overeating, obesity, metabolic issues.Excess consumption of HFCS is associated with increased risk of obesity, insulin resistance, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The body processes some quantity fine, but high frequency or amounts are risky.
Glucose / Fructose70
Same as above; natural sugar better than refined but still sugar.
Fructose especially when in large amounts can cause metabolic stress; glucose still rapidly increases blood sugar.
Sucrose Acetoisobutyrate
80
Used to enhance sweetness; may have minor/conditional risks or controversies.
Some artificial sweeteners are under study for possible effects on gut microbiome, metabolic health; regulatory bodies typically deem them safe in small amounts, but long-term studies are mixed.
Citric Acid
25
Adds tartness; generally safe but can affect teeth enamel.
Recognized generally safe; in large exposure could cause minor dental erosion.
Acidity Regulators / Electrolytes
30
Good for hydration / body’s electrical functions; excessive sodium can be a concern.
Balanced electrolytes are beneficial; high sodium intake is linked to hypertension etc. The amounts in a serving matter.
Natural Flavors
30
Flavoring agents whose exact composition often unknown; minor risk.
“Natural flavors” can still be complex chemical mixtures; people with allergies or sensitivities may react; overall low risk in small quantities.
Modified Food Starch
30
Thickener / stabilizer; generally safe.
Typically derived from corn, potato, etc.; low allergen risk; some processed but accepted by regulators.
Calcium Disodium EDTA
40
Used to protect color; not eaten in large amounts.
EDTA is a chelating agent; at permissible levels, considered safe; some concern if consumed too frequently in large doses.
Medium Chain
Triglycerides (MCT)
20
Used for texture / mouthfeel; could have some metabolism benefit.
MCTs are fats that are more easily digested; in this drink, amount is very small.
Colouring (Blue 1 / Brilliant Blue FCF)
80
Makes the drink visually attractive; may have effects in sensitive individuals.
Some artificial dyes have been linked to hyperactivity in children, allergic reactions; some regulatory bodies recommend limits; possible carcinogenic concerns in high doses in animal studies.
Aspartame / Acesulfame-K
85
Very sweet; used in low amounts; but controversial for some long-term health concerns.
Aspartame has been studied for possible links to cancer risk in animals, neurological effects; regulatory bodies like FDA, EFSA say safe within acceptable daily intake; but “if overused” warnings apply.
Vitamins B6, B12, C etc.
10
Good positive effects; support metabolism, immune system.
Essential micronutrients; benefits well documented; risk only if extremely high doses beyond safe limits.
